Doves, Inc. began in 1980 by providing services to victims of domestic violence. In response to the crisis caused by sexual assault, additional services were started in 1985. As the reported incidents of domestic violence increased, the shelter opened it's doors to families in crisis in 1988. Doves, Inc. was built by the compassion of a community and the commitment of volunteers. Throughout the years, additions have been made to that solid foundation and the results are a growing staff and a shelter with the capacity to house sixteen.
